We really liked this place. Fantastic view. Because of its tucked away location there was no wind and it was amazingly quiet for eating by the ocean.
Our food was pretty good. It's refreshing to find a restaurant that realizes the occasional vegetarian might want to eat something. I was shocked at how many restaurants on the central coast don't even have a single option for non-meat eaters (it's 2010 people, get with it). Our garlic fries were way too greasy, but the vegetarian pizza and the ham and cheese sandwich we ordered were both very good.
There's also a wonderful path down to the beach, which is a great place for a stroll after your meal.

This place is a hidden little gem. Called for a reservation and got in right away on a Friday night. Our waitress handled things perfectly. I had the baby steamers followed by the all you can eat fish and chips. The steamers were very tasty and gone in minutes I recommend them. The cod for the fish and chips was light and flaky just like good cod should be. The service was excellent and the prices comparable to the area.

Outstanding ocean view from the restaurant. Service is fine. Food is wonderful. I have had breakfast, lunch and dinner here. The Sunday brunch is crowded.

really liked this restaurant. The view from the outside patio is amazing, even at night. They have plenty of heat lamps and gas fire places to keep you nice and toasty. The deck was very clean and freshly painted.
I ordered the Cabo Tacos (basically cod tacos) which were just slightly above average. However, the views definitely make up for it. For a medium priced restaurant, I was very impressed. I'd definitely go here again.

For those who have sampled from the usual coastal fare: Cliffs, D-Bay, Sea Venture, etc...the Spyglass Inn's restaurant is a great value.
A moderately priced menu of good (not great) food and a view that rivals any in SLO county.
Our faves: Fish and chips...done simple, but done well, with a batter that cooks up light and crispy.
ONLY order the garlic fries is you have the stones to eat them...seriously, for some the fresh chunks of grilled garlic can be a bit intense...get a half-order mixed with their regular fries!
We've been here many times and will return again with our friends and family.
People spend millions to see this bitchen' view...do a sunset there.

I've had a couple of good experiences dining at Spyglass. I've come away from peak season, during the winter, so that might account for why I've had a much better time here. Every time I've come for dinner the restaurant has been pretty empty, and the service has been good with the food coming out pretty promptly. I've always gotten a lovely table with a nice view, although admittedly the ocean isn't quite the same kind of view in the winter time! Usually I order some type of fish when I come, which has always been good. A bit pricier than I'd like, but in my opinion it's a solid seafood place for the area.

Good food, friendly service. They quickly accomodated our large party and let us rearrange the tables without a fuss. The lobster & shrimp tacos were fantastic. The avocado eggrolls and crabcakes were also delicious. Another big plus, they didn't automatically include the gratuity even though we were over 6 people. That alone earned the 20% tip.

I have to admit, when I first saw this place on hwy. 101, it looked like an old place that has been around for many years. I decided to go in, and that was a good decision. I really liked the cheesy bread that they had instead of the rolls. The fish entrees are good, so is the calamari. Definitely better than Steamers in my opinion.

This last weekend my husband and I wanted to take a mini vacation and come down and enjoy the coast. We were told by some friends of ours that the spyglass inn was a great place to stay. When we checked in we were told that the restaurant had a great vie, as well as special discounts for hotel guests. To make a long story short, we decided to try out the restaurant, and although we could not sit outside because of the rain the view was still fabulous. Compared to most places in the area it is a fair priced and the food is great. For breakfast we enjoyed the vegi omelette as well as the crab benidict, and for dinner the stuffed sole was amazing. In addition to the great atmosphere, the service was very prompt, and the waitress was very nice and accomidating ( it almost felt like family). The restaurant was pretty clean and everything seemed very orderly. I would definitly go back again, and would recomend u to go as well. Great place!!!

The view and outside location is great. Food was good. Service friendly and well done. I would recommend for a quiet oceanside dinner and they lit a fire at sunset which was very inviting!

Good food, great relaxing patio. If your looking for more of a party atmosphere check out the Cliffs down the path way. But if you want to relax with some good food and wine, check out Spy glass.

Wow! This place is fantastic. We sat outside on top of the cliff and I swear it must have the greatest view of the ocean on the entire west coast. The staff was friendly, service was prompt, and the food was fabulous. I had the crab sandwich, and my wife had the portobello burger. If you ever want to go to a place with great food and a great view this is it!

We went for lunch at the Spyglass and were very happy with the service and food. With two teenagers and a vegeterian it is hard to please everyone, but the Spyglass did. I would recommend it to everyone. A plus is the beautiful view while you are eating.

I went to Spyglass last weekend to take advantage of the great weather over the holiday. I was impressed not only by the upbeat staff and incredible views but also by my meal and the wine selection. I thoroughly enjoyed my Chicken Avocado Club Sandwich. Yum!! Will definitely be back.

The bar at the Spyglass Inn Restaurant is a hidden gem on the Central coast. The view is outstanding, probably the best around and their happy hour is a great deal. Appetizers are half off plus they have good drink prices. Best of all is the bartenders. They have professional bartenders who give great service and help guide you in ordering. Gary Jackson is the best bartender ever! Keep it up, Spyglass!
